The TD represents the cutting edge in table-mounted Flight Training Devices (FTDs).  It is a simulation of our 2009 Cessna 172 Skyhawk equipped with a Garmin G-1000 Glass Cockpit, and is so realistic that the FAA allows a portion of the training done on the simulator to count towards student pilots' flight time.

This FTD will lower the cost of student flight training as many of the functions of our modern glass cockpit airplane can be learned on the ground at a fraction of the cost of the actual airplane. This is an excellent tool to use on days where flying in the airplane is impractical due to inclement weather, and can be directly integrated into ground training sessions for student pilots of all skill levels. The TD also serves as a powerful resource for instrument rating students learning new and complex procedures, as introducing them in the simulator makes flight training far more efficient.
