Clear Air Aviation is proud to announce the order of the Redbird™ TD flight simulator.  This device represents the cutting edge in table-mounted Flight Training Devices (FTDs).  The TD will be a simulation of our 2009 Cessna 172 Skyhawk equipped with a Garmin G-1000 Glass Cockpit, and is so realistic that the FAA allows a portion of the training done on the simulator to count towards student pilots' flight time.

This FTD is expected to lower the cost of student flight training as many of the functions of our modern glass cockpit airplane can be learned on the ground at a fraction of the cost of the actual airplane. This is an excellent tool to use on days where flying in the airplane is impractical due to inclement weather, and can be directly integrated into ground training sessions for student pilots of all skill levels. The TD will also serve as a powerful resource for instrument rating students learning new and complex procedures, as introducing them in the simulator will make the flight training far more efficient.

The Redbird™ TD is expected to arrive at Clear Air Aviation in two weeks.  If you would like more information, click here or send an e-mail to
